Hurley is a small town with a big heart located in Turner County and approximately 30 miles southwest of Sioux Falls, our state's largest city. Convenience is close at hand, yet we retain the small town feel you're looking for. Hurley is a town of 415 with a middle-school, beautiful parks, and many activities. Elementary and high school are a short few miles south in Viborg. Come and take a look -- we hope you enjoy your visit. Library News: Winter hours for the Hurley Library are Monday/Wednesday 1:00pm-8:00pm; and Friday/Saturday 9:00am-Noon. The phone number is (605) 238-5680. Summer hours are Monday/Wednesday 9:00 am-4:00pm Friday/Saturday 9:00am-12:00pm Reminder to all Hurley residents: if you see or hear any suspicious activity in your neighborhood, please report it to the Sheriff's office right away by calling their non-emergency/dispatch phone number -- 764-2523. Thank you for your cooperation. Please note that if a peddler comes to your door, ask to see their Hurley Peddler's License and SD State Sales Tax License. If they can't produce both of these documents, please call either City Hall (238-0680) or the non-emergency number at the Sheriff's office (297-3225), as they are not licensed to peddle door-to-door in Hurley. Also, know that they cannot approach your home before 9am or after 8pm. If in doubt, call. Thank you! Please remember to license your cats & dogs.
