According to Municipal Ordinance 8.0205, Use of Municipal Sewer System:
"No person shall discharge or cause to be discharged any storm water, surface water, ground water, roof runoff, subsurface drainage, including interior and exterior foundation drains, uncontaminated cooling water, or unpolluted industrial process waters into any sanitary sewer."
Discharging storm water or ground water into the City's sanitary sewer system is a violation of City ordinance and costs you, the rate payers, money to transport and taxes our sanitary sewer system. Help prevent sanitary sewer overflows and backups as well as keep costs low by disconnecting sump pumps and roof drains from the sanitary sewer system.
