Advisory CommissionsIf you have a question regarding one of these areas, please contact the appropriate council member. Cemetery BoardThe Hurley cemetery is a city-owned, perpetual care cemetery. George Osterloo and Allsion Hintz oversee the Hurley City cemetery. Finance Officer Marcy Hillman is the Cemetery Sexton.
Parks & RecreationCurrently Parks & Recreation is served by Tom Nelson and Russ Anderson. Coaches for the softball/baseball program this year are Linda Nelson and Jim Gerdes. Streets & Street LightsStreets are overseen by Kelly Jorgensen and Allison Hintz. Please contact either with questions or concerns regarding city streets. Streetlights are covered by Russ Anderson and Taylor Stanage. If you see a streetlight that is out, you can call either City Hall (238-0680) or SE Electric directly at (605) 326-5261; if you have the pole #, that is helpful when calling in. Water/SewerTom Nelson, Russ Anderson and Taylor Stanage are in charge of Water/Sewer; Tom Nelson is our wastewater certified operator. Please contact either of them with questions or concerns regarding water or sewer issues.
Police, Fire & Ambulance, and Public BuildingsThe City of Hurley contracts law enforcement from Turner County. To visit the Turner County Sheriff's website, please click here: http://www.turnersheriff.com/. If you have an emergency, please call 911 immediately. Hurley has a Volunteer Fire Department and a State Licensed EMT/Paramedic. Allison Hintz and Taylor Stanage also oversee Public Buildings.
Library BoardThe library has oversight by George Osterloo and Russ Anderson. George is on the Library Board, which is separate from the City Council. Amy Smith is our Librarian.
Planning and ZoningKelly Jorgensen oversees the Planning and Zoning commission with help from Tom Nelson. Building permits are required by the city; you may pick up a permit application at City Hall during normal business hours. The Planning and Zoning Ordinances for the City of Hurley are available online under Government/City Ordinances.
FinanceGeorge Osterloo and Kelly Jorgensen oversee the Finance department.
